Physical Description: Roughly the same height as humans, but tending towards a more lithe and wiry build. Mokole resemble nothing more so than Humanoid dragons.

The Mokole hail from the mysterious isle of Ilstad. For the last century, Mokole tribes have been warring amongst eachother for reasons lost to history, pausing just long enough to drive off any intruders to their island. 15 years ago, one tribe, using radical strategies, finally clawed its way to the top, forcing the others to peace. With no more enemies, Mokole are finally looking outward towards the world they have ignored so long.

Mokole culture may seem simple, but it is far from primitive. Each tribe is run on via meritocracy, with no stock given to bloodlines. Children are usually raised communally, and are encouraged tobe inquisitive and competitive from an early age.

mokole do not have much interest in rules, and are usually more interested in succeeding than playing nice, making the race as a whole skewed towards chaotic neutral. The tend to get along well with elves due to the shared emphasis on freedom. Humans are generally mistrusted, in no small part towards their armed incursions on the Mokole’ home island. The stoic Dwarves generally mistrust the mokole’s capricious nature.

Most mokole adventurer’s do so out of their own curiosity, or as the agent of another. mokole casters are rare, and most who do have magical talent (divine or otherwise) tend to take leadership roles, leaving the more physically inclined to go out and explore.

Racial Traits
+2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Wisdom. Mokole are wiry and quick, but impulsive.

Dragons are immune to magical sleep effects and paralysis effects.
Dragons breathe, eat, and sleep.
Base Speed: land speed: 40 climb speed: 20.
Languages: Mokole begin with Common and Draconic. Mokole with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Elven, Aklo, Sylvan, Gnome, orc, Giant, Auquan.

Defense Racial Traits:
Natural Armor: Mokole have a natural armor bonus of +1.

Misc Racial traits
Curiosity: Mokole naturally inquisitive about the world around them. They gain a +4 bonus on Diplomacy checks to gather information, and Knowledge (history) and Knowledge (local) become class skills for them. If they choose a class that has either of these Knowledge skills as class skills, they gain a +2 racial bonus on those skills instead.
Fast; Members of this race gain a +10 foot bonus to their base speed.

Alternate traits.
Spell resistance: Mokole with arcane ability tend to have thinner scales, but an increased resistance to outside magic. They gain SR 6+ character level. This replaces natural armor.

Draconic Scales: Some Mokole are born with thicker, platelike scales. These mokole gain cold resistance 5, electricity resistance 5, and fire resistance 5, at the cost of decreased mobility. this trait replaces Fast and Climb. (Base speed is reduced to 30, and no climb speed.)

Defensive Training, Greater: Mokole Veterans of the tribal wars are old hands at battle field survival, but are mistrustful of outsiders. They gain a +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class. This trait replaces Curiosity.

Terrain Stride. Some Mokole tribes favor moving carefully over quickly. Choose a ranger favored terrain type. Members of this race can move through natural difficult terrain at their normal speed while within the chosen terrain. Magically altered terrain affects them normally. This trait replaces Fast. (Base land speed reduced to 30.)
